Tenke Fungurume Mining (TFM) is one of the largest copper producers in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and the world’s premier cobalt producer.

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. (FMI) recently sold its interest in TFM to an affiliate of China Molybdenum Co., Ltd. (CMOC). Based on a transition services agreement, FMI will continue to provide support to this affiliate and TFM until later in 2017.  Support will include the recruitment for expatriate positions based in the DRC and can be found on this website. For U.S.-based opportunities with CMOC, please visit their website:

Located 110 miles northwest of Lubumbashi, in the southeast of the DRC, TFM began producing copper at its operations in 2009. The project offers a vital source of revenue for regional and national development. TFM’s operations were designed and constructed using leading-edge technology and following international best practice standards for environmental management, occupational safety and social responsibility. In 2013, TFM completed its second phase expansion project, which included optimizing the current plant and increasing mine, mill and processing capacity.
